Additional reporting by Daryl Harding

A bunch of details came through for the next entries in the Yakuza series, which is now shedding its former localized title in favor of continuing as the direct correlation to the Japanese series title Ryu ga Gotoku. In addition to revealing Like a Dragon 8the RGG Summit 2022: Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio New Title Presentation event showed off new side story DLC that covers what Kazuma Kiryu has been up to since we last saw him.

Following the act of Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Like a Dragon 8 will be another turn-based entry. This time, however, it will feature dual protagonists as both Kazuma Kiryu and Ichiban Kasuga get the spotlight. According to the announcement, this will be the largest game in the series, and they decided to go with turn-based RPG gameplay again since the focus is on the story.
