Summer reading programs still in full swing

Emily Clare

Can you believe that we’ve made it halfway though July and halfway through 2022 already? Don’t worry, though, the remainder of 2022 will offer many more great programs and events hosted by the Cheboygan Area Public Library. And here what’s coming in August:

First of all, there are a couple more summer reading activities before the Wrap-Up Party. The Fleece Octopus class on Aug. 2 is already full, but Ms. Nancy is offering a Rubber Fish Printing workshop for 10- to 15-year-olds at 10:15 am July 25. This workshop if free, but registration is required. Call the library today to sign up, 231-627-2381.

Second, the Friends of the Library will be giving away books to all kids who stop by the Family Fun Day booth at the Cheboygan County Fairgrounds 11 am-2 pm Monday, Aug. 8. This Gift of Reading event is offered as part of the Cheboygan County Family Fun Day and Project Connect event organized by the MSU Extension office.

This event brings together many Health and Human Services organizations that offer great services to the community. Be sure to stop by and find out all the great family resources available in Cheboygan. Plus, there will be lots of hands-on fun for kids 0-12 (older siblings are welcome, too) and kids may even have the opportunity to win all-day ride bracelets.
